Aparima College prides itself on our ability to offer students a safe working environment in a quiet rural setting.  The school site boasts an environment second to none with the school grounds bordering the shores of the Southern Ocean as well as the banks of the Aparima River.

We are proud of our ability to provide modern facilities and a range of activities to best meet the needs of our students and that provides them with a quality education.

Built to accommodate up to 400 students, the College's roll is currently approximately 200. Our relatively small size as well as spacious facilities means that our students are able to enjoy a opportunities for success in small classes and uncrowded learning environments. The school can boast modern facilities including two well-equipped Laboratories, a full sized gymnasium, a Technology block where all Technology subjects including Hard & Soft Technology, Trade Technology, Home Economics and Art are offered in spacious rooms with up-to-date equipment. Adjacent to the library is the careers office and the office of the Gateway and STAR coordinator.  Aparima College was the first school in Southland to offer Gateway and has continued to be ranked in the top five New Zealand schools for successfully meeting Gateway targets ever since.

Culturally, the College has a Music Suite, equipped with a wide range of modern equipment, the suite includes a number of practice rooms on two levels.  The school has a proud tradition of music and theatre. This has been acknowledge by the Board of Trustees who have invested heavily in light and sound systems necessary for Drama and Musical productions.  These events take place in the large school hall on the College grounds
