School Uniform

Note: In 2024 ALL STUDENTS will be required to wear black socks with a green stripe (available from The U Shop) These will replace the white socks and the grey socks.

Replacement PE tops are available to be purchased from the college office. The School jacket is only available from uniformNZ shop and  all other items are available from The U Shop. Ask for the Aparima College uniform list.

Year 7 – 10 students can wear either of the following two options.

Option 1

  • Jersey: Regulation V-necked bottle green jersey.
  • Vest: Dark bottle green.
  • Skirt: Aparima College skirt which is worn all year (also a kilt available)
  • Trousers: Regulation school grey trousers
  • Blouse/Shirt: Over blouse, white
  • Socks: Regulations school socks – Black with green stripe
  • Pantyhose: Black pantyhose. Socks are not to be worn with pantyhose
  • Shoes: Plain black leather laced flat school shoes
  • Tie: Aparima College tie is optional

Option 2

  • Jersey: Regulation V-necked bottle green jersey.
  • Vest: Dark bottle green
  • Shorts: Grey regulation shorts
  • Trousers: Regulation school grey trousers
  • Shirt: Grey, short or long sleeve
  • Socks: Regulations school socks – Black with green stripe
  • Shoes: Plain black leather lace up shoes
  • Tie: Aparima College tie is optional

Year 11 – 13 students can wear either of the following two options.

  • Blazer Dark bottle green with school monogram pocket. Compulsory for Years 11 – 13
  • Jersey Regulation V-necked bottle green
  • Vest Dark bottle green
  • Shorts Grey regulation shorts
  • Trousers Regulation school grey trousers
  • Shirt White business shirt
  • Socks: Regulations school socks – Black with green stripe
  • Shoes Plain black leather lace up shoes
  • Tie Aparima College tie is COMPULSORY

Option 2

  • Blazer Dark bottle green with school monogram pocket. Compulsory for Years 11- 13

Physical Education Uniform

The PE Uniform is compulsory for Year 7 – 10 students. The uniform consists of the following:

  • Plain black shorts or track pants
  • Aparima College PE top which is black, green and gold.

The Aparima College PE top can only be purchased from the school office. Students will be given their first PE Top for FREE, if they require another one they can be purchased form the college office. Only non-marking gym shoes may be worn in the gym.

 

Jewellery
Jewellery is restricted to a watch, one set of ear studs or keepers, one fine neck chain, a small ring and a thin, plain bangle.

Hair Accessories
Only accessories in green, gold, white and black are acceptable.

Personal Grooming
Hair colour must be natural in appearance. Unnatural and/or multi-coloured hair is unacceptable. Extreme hairstyles are not acceptable. Students with longer hair MUST have it off the face and tied back. Faces MUST be clean shaven, no makeup or nail varnish may be worn.

General Points
Wearing of the correct uniform is required. All uniform items are to be worn correctly – shirts tucked in, buttons done up, etc. Students may wear the winter uniform or summer skirt at any time of the year. All students using the workshop, home economics room and laboratories MUST wear protective clothing, plain black leather laced school shoes, glasses, etc as outlined in the policies for those areas. Parents are asked to be sure that uniform and footwear are in good order at the start of each term. All garments should be clearly marked with the owner’s name. If in doubt regarding items of uniform, please check by ringing the school office before a purchase is made.

Sandals
Optional in term 1 and 4. Sandals cannot be worn in Science or Woodwork or Cooking classrooms.

Undergarments
A plain white tee-shirt may be worn UNDER the school uniform for extra warmth. This is not to be visible.

Jacket
Students can either wear a plain black, navy or natural green jacket (can be worn outdoors only) or an Aparima College black shell jacket (this one can be worn in class) which can be purchased from the Uniform Shop – click on the on the following link aparimacollege.uniformnz.com/

School Scarf
Optional and are available to purchase from the college office.
